- Four weeks to discuss Christ as Prophet, Priest and King and how the birth of Christ points to these three offices or roles that He came to fulfill
- A prophet – One who speaks for God to us (Slide 2)
- A Priest – One who speak to God for us (Slide 3)
- A King – One who rules over us (Slide 4)
- Where do we find hope?
- Hope functions in our lexicon today a little differently than the biblical usage of the word
- “I hope my team wins” or “I hope I get something good for Christmas”
- We use hope the way we use the term wish or want
- The Biblical use of the Word hope is linked to a promise from God and we are looking with faith for its fulfillment
- Hope in the promises of God to establish forever these three offices of Prophet, Priest and King
- I hope that God will speak and communicate to us and
- From the beginning, God’s communication with and to humans is the theme of the Bible
- God discloses His nature and plan and calls us to participate in what He is doing
- When the serpent tempts Eve in the Garden, one of the lines of deception include the question of God’s revelation
