  1. All creation anxiously awaits our redemption
  2. All creation groans
  3. All creation will one day be FREE in a glorious

          victory over this futile world

 

III. The Anxious Longing of the Children of God,

      Romans 8:18, 23-25

  1. The Holy Spirit tells us of a future hope
  2. The Holy Spirit is like a deposit or down

             payment pointing to a future redemption,

             II Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Ephesians 1:13-14

  1. The Holy Spirit is like the first fruits pointing to

             the future glorious harvest,

             Romans 8:23

  1. The Holy Spirit groans within us,

           Romans 8:26-27

  1. We groan within ourselves,

           Romans 8:23

  1. Looking for our completed adoption, the

           redemption of our body,

           Romans 8:23

  1. In hope, we have been saved from this present
    suffering
  2. Hope has to do with looking for what we don't

             already see

  1. We hope for what we don't currently see
  2. We persevere, waiting for our ultimate salvation
