    I. A Historic Event, Luke 2:1-3 (Luke 3:1-2)
    ~Leaders, all known to us from antiquity, identified in the Gospel of Luke: Herod the Great, Herod Antipas, Herod Philip, Caesar, Pontus Pilate, Lysanias, Annas, Caiaphas

    Sir William Ramsay ‘Luke is a historian of the first rank; not merely are his statements of fact trustworthy’...’this author should be placed along with the very greatest of historians’...’Luke’s history is unsurpassed in respect of its trustworthiness.’

    II. A True Event, Luke 2:4-7
    ~Prologue to Luke, Luke 1:1-3 Acts and Colossians 4
    ~Eyewitnesses to events along with other writers with a consistent presentation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the World.

    III. A Divine Event, Luke 2:8-14
    ~Angelical announcements of God’s work in human history.
    ~This announcement: “A Savior, Who is Christ the Lord.”

    IV. A Life Changing Event, Luke 2:15-20
    ~”Born for you...The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.”
    God’s invitation to you today is to also receive Jesus Christ, to Glorify and praise God for what Jesus Christ has done.
