The Triune God
Genesis 1, Psalm 19, Isaiah 40, Matthew 28:19-20, Hebrews 1:1-3

From Matthew Road Statement of Faith…

We believe that there is one eternal triune God, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all honor, obedience, confidence, and love; revealing Himself in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, without division of nature, essence, or being.  All three persons are infinite and without beginning.

  1. Existence as a Pointer to God: God as the self-sufficient, eternal first cause.
  2. Expanse as a Pointer to God: God as inexpressibly glorious.
  3. Beauty as a Pointer to God: God as worthy of worship.
  4. Complexity as a Pointer to God: God as infinitely wise.
  5. Order as a Pointer to God: God as author of purpose.
  6. Relationships as a Pointer to God: God the Triune Creator.
  7. Language as a Pointer to God: God as Revealer.

Conclusion: There is sufficient and overwhelming evidence in nature and logic to support the Divine origin and purpose of the universe.  There is sufficient and overwhelming evidence to the personal nature of the universe from nature and from history to affirm God’s glorious and triune nature.  There is sufficient and overwhelming evidence from the person of Jesus Christ as disclosed in the Bible to affirm God as a God of revelation.
