Principle: Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. 
I Corinthians 11:3

I.   This principle, "God is the head of Christ," describes the Father's relationship to Christ and is found in several other texts.

      A.  Equal in all attributes, power and glory

      B.  The Son willingly submits to God the Father as His head

           1.  For the glory of the Father

           2.  For the salvation of the nations

           3.  For the joy of His people

           4.  For the everlasting honor that the Father will bestow on Him

 

II.   This principle, "Christ is the head of every man," describes Christ's relationship to the church and is found in several other texts.

        The church willingly submits to Christ as her head

III.   This principle, "the man is the head of a woman," describes the man's relationship to the woman and is found in several other texts.

       The wife willingly submits to her husband as her head
