Consider Yourselves Dead to Sin, Colossians 3:5-7

I.    Consider: Put in the forefront of your mind; imperative, a command.  Do this!
      A. Members of Your Earthly Body: Every aspect of the mind and body

      B. As Dead to Sin: Unable to sin, Incapable of sinning

      C. Specifically Consider Yourself as Dead to:
          1. Immorality: any sexual sin
          2. Impurity: moral corruption in general, but often including sexual sins
          3. Passion: lusts, often specific to sexual sins
          4. Evil Desire: basic human tendency toward sin (James 1:14-15)
          5. Greed: sinful desire for more, covetousness
          6. All of these are various forms of idolatry

      D. Because, the Wrath of God is Coming on the Children of Disobedience
           1. In Contrast to the Coming of the Glory of Christ
           2. In Contrast to the Sons of Children of God (Children of Righteousness)
           3. Do Not Return to that Life Again

II.  Put Away

III. Put On
